We bought this early (before the babies arrive) to test it out and we are not disappointed. We are using it right now to monitor an ailing relative who needs near constant monitoring and the nature of the set up is she is in a separate home on the property. So the monitor and sound are working perfectly at a range of about 275 ft between two homes. The handheld device can also be hooked up to your tv which puts the picture large and very convenient. You have the option of having sound, picture or both which is a nice feature. I give this high marks and cannot wait to use it to monitor the babies when they arrive.

I bought this to replace an earlier model Summer video baby monitor and just love it. Since we have two floors, it is nice to have a monitor in our bedroom and a handheld that I can cart around with me. Everything works well, and it is so nice to see my child no matter where I am in the house. The video quality is good, not superior, and gives me what I need. If you are expecting television quality picture (especially those HD viewers out there)you won't be thrilled. Overall, I am very pleased and wouldn't be without this product.

We buy video baby monitors of this type every couple of years, as we have a handicapped daughter with multiple medical issues and this is a good way to monitor her throughout the day as well as at night when we are not in her room. The large LCD display is across our bedroom and we can still see her very clearly. The portable is very handy since it has the rechargeable battery that lasts very long. Yes, sometimes there is a little static but it is very easy to get rid of by moving the monitor slightly. It does not seem to be bothered by the computer, phone, etc. I am hoping this one will last a bit longer than the others, however we have it on 24 hours a day so it does take a beating...

This system has good range and acceptable audio/video signals. The surprising thing about it is the limitations it has for a $300 system...
I have more than one child and wanted to purchase a second camera so I can switch between channels and view each child, here is the response given by their customer service: "There is not a second camera option for that system. It has two channel selection to minimize interference". This seems very short sighted to me unless their expected demographic is only for people with one child, especially for the cost of this system.
Another oddity is the use of NiCad batteries in the portable monitor, Nicads have well documented memory effect issues if you don't allow them to completely discharge before recharging them, this is another inconvenience that I am not sure why they chose this instead of NIMH or LI-Ion batteries.
I suppose I can live with the battery issue but the camera issue is making me consider returning this product for another that will fit my needs.

Important Installation Requirements:

I love this monitor! I am a NICU mom who's first baby came home on a medical grade apnea monitor for apnea of prematurity. This product is the next best thing.

This monitor is surprisingly sensitive to the slightest movement. I have it under a mattress, mattress pad, fitted mattress sheet, waterproof mattress cover, AND an inclined sleep positioner! The directions were very clear and the device was very easy to set up. The range on the receivers (parent devices) is excellent even in the 'dead zones' of our house where our cordless phones don't work.
The receivers not only give very clear sound but also show the temperature of the room. The receivers also have a sturdy little clip on the back so you can clip it to your shirt and walk around hands free. Oh and the receivers give you a warning when the batteries start to go, it beeps once every 15 seconds or so.

I also love the little night light feature on the transmitter. It's bright enough that you can see several feet pretty clearly but not so bright to light the whole room... The receivers hold their charge for a long time and use rechargable batteries (included with the product). The settings are adjustable and its easy enough to turn features on or off but I left the factory settings which work very well.

It is a very expensive monitor but SIDS scares me silly. Having experienced my first son almost dieing but for the apnea monitor (he was discharged from the NICU with an apnea monitor) telling us that he stopped breathing, I needed the next best thing for my second (my 2nd is a full term baby). I highly recommend this fantastic product (for full term babies, of course use a medical grade apnea monitor for wee ones who need them) despite the excessive cost. In my humble opinion, if you have concerns about SIDS then this monitor is worth every penny.

There are a lot of reviews of this product, so let me impart the "Gravy" if you will.

1. The motion sensor works and has not had any false alarms ONCE we adjusted the sensitivity. At its least sensitive setting, the unit would alarm. Since adjusting to the "mid level" we have not had a single false alarm... However, if you pick up your kiddo in the middle of the night to change a full diaper, turn the unit off first or you'll wake up your sleeping spouse with the ALARM!

2. The sensing unit works fine in a crib without the masonite board. In the basonette, we used two towels on either side to "level" things out. The sensor still worked fine and the thin mattress pad was level.

3. The alarm is loud and will wake you up. Good.

4. The monitor microphone is sensitive and you can hear every little grunt, so we turn the volume down a little at night. A cry will be loud, grunts are not.

5. Our Uniden 5.4gHz phones do NOT interfere with the unit and it does not affect my wireless network.

Overall, we love the monitor.

I have used this monitor since birth with my 6 month old son. I can't even express the peace of mind that using this monitor offers. When it's on, I always know he's alive and don't have to succumb to checking him every five minutes. I know that the sensor works, because if I forget to turn off the monitor and take him out of the crib, it goes off within seconds.

My other favorite part of this monitor has nothing to do with the sensor - it is noise-activated. We have a Summer Infant video monitor which is NOT noise activated, and it's very annoying to have the sound on all the time. We barely use that monitor, and when we do it's only for the video. I love the Angelcare monitor because it only makes noise when the baby makes noise, (this is an optional setting).

The monitor has gone off two times in his lifetime. When we got to his room, he was fine. It beeps very loudly when it goes off, so perhaps it woke him up from momentary apnea. But who knows? Maybe he wouldn't have woken.

I can't recommend this product enough. It saves my sanity every day.

I was both surprised and thrilled with the functionality and performance of the Lorex LW2002W. I really do mean thrilled with the performance. Below is a summary of my likes and dislikes.

Pros
- Highly sensitive microphone
- Low light capability
- Very easy set-up
- Will interface with your television - will allow for a split screen using your picture-in-picture.
- Works with a recording device - a DVR, VCR, or other devices.
- Alarm for any changes in status - if it detects movement or sound
- Decent range (Not great but not bad)
- Monitor will support up to 4 cameras

Cons-
- Need to watch for audio feedback if the monitor gets to close to the camera (It could wake a baby) ... note that this is standard for any audio equipment if the receiver gets to close to the source.
- A bigger screen would be nice - if I was trying to find something to complain about

Great product at a reasonable price - the Lorex LW2002W is an easy product to enjoy!

I looked at the other two similar systems available and this one is the best in my opinion:

Setup is extremely easy - charge and turn on. Picture quality both day and night vision are excellent.
Camera can be rotated at good variety of angles and can be battery powered (though night vision would drain batteries quickly).
It's digital, so neighbors can't see your cameras and you can't see theirs instead of yours.

What differentiated this from the other ones for me was:

1) availability of additional cameras, up to 4 that can be monitored from same receiver, and
2) this system uses Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum technology, so it can co-exist with your 802.11b/g access points. I was able to use my laptop over 802.11g just fine while using the camera receiver right next to it.

In the state of Victoria, Australia, (pop'n.5,427,700) the rate of injury to children from falling televisions which resulted in hospitalisation of the child, has risen from 37 in 2000 to 101 in 2009. Leg and foot injuries are among the most common to children under 5, followed by head, face and neck injuries, and unfortunately one child has died from a falling television.

Kayla's mother heard a loud crash coming from the room where 4 year old Kayla had been watching TV. The 30 kg large screen TV which had been sitting on top of a chest of drawers had fallen more than a metre onto Kayla's little body with only her feet visible below the large TV.
Kayla suffered a large cut to the side of her head and had blood coming out of her mouth,ear and nose and was also not breathing for a short period of time.
Kayla's mother held her little girl as she thought she was dying.

Kayla was taken to hospital in a critical condition, doctors were unsure if she would survive. Kayla's mother said "I never imagined in my wildest dreams a television could do so much damage." Neurosurgeons operated on Kayla's damaged brain lining and part of her skull was removed to allow room for her brain to swell. She was in an induced coma for 6 days hovering between life and death, with her mother at her side.

Six weeks on and Kayla is making a miraculous recovery with further surgery on her skull to come. Doctors hope she will make a full recovery but expect it will take a long time and she may be left with subtle deficits.

Kayla's accident highlights the dangers of large screen TV's to small children, when babyproofing your home the television is often overlooked, but obviously as parents we need to include large televisions on our baby home safety checklist.

7 baby home safety precautions for your large screen TV you must know:

Match the stand or cabinet to the size of the TV - it should have a wide, deep and sturdy base.
If you are not using a TV stand, place the TV as far back as possible on a low, stable surface.
Use wall brackets and straps to anchor the TV to a wall - A length of lightweigt chain is ideal to attach to the back of the TV and then anchor to a fixture on the wall, make sure the wall fixture e.g. a strong hook, is attached to a wall stud.
Keep TV cords behind the furniture where children cannot reach them.
Do not use TV cabinets with drawers immediately under the TV, as this is more likely to overturn when a loaded drawer is opened.
Do not place the remote control and other items attractive to children on top of the TV where they may try to reach them.
Never place the TV on unstable furniture such as a chest of drawers, speakers or a trolly.

I have been very, very pleased with this monitor. We tried to add a 2nd camera to our old safety first video monitor but it would just not support two cameras even though it was suppose to. I researched and read tons of reviews on video monitors, quality of the image, portability, interference, etc. and finally decided on the BebeSounds 2 camera package. It has been excellent!

Positive:
The cameras are easy to use, swivel in any direction to get your image, can be attached to a wall instead of placed on a flat surface, seem to be sturdy, are light weight and run on an AC cord.

The monitor has an excellent quality picture image. I was afraid coming from the mini tv sized monitor with safety first that I would not like the smaller image but the quality and detail is so good I love being able to move it around and take it with us out of town. It can run on rechargeable batteries or the AC plug. You can watch just one room, just the other room, or set it to flip back every few seconds between rooms. Very easy to use. You can adjust the light on the camera from the monitor so if the image is too dark, or too bright, you can change it without going into the child's room. Sound is great. no interference with our wireless router or several cordless phones. Works throughout our home across 3 stories and into the yard.

Negative:
The monitor comes with 5 rechargeable batteries and only uses rechargeable batteries. It states this clearly in several places on the monitor. Despite that, someone in my family decided it was only a suggestion and put regular batteries in it and they overheated and actually leaked something that took the varnish off in a spot my end table. We generally use rechargeable batteries because not using them is too expensive for kids things so this was clearly user error, but anyone using it needs to know the red warning label inside the battery compartment is a requirement, not a suggestion. I also wish it used on 4 batteries because I can only charge 4 at a time on our charger and that 5th battery is an extra charging step. We rarely use it off the plug anyways so on a true hassle scale, it is pretty low.
Compared to the overall quality of the equipment, I would buy this and recommend it again and again.
Overall - Love Love Love this system!!!!

We bought this monitor to replace our old Video monitor that broke with our first child. This monitor is by far, more superior! The camera is very small and sits easily on our window sill above our child's crib. The receiver is very small, easily 1/4 the size of our old video receiver that we bought at Babies R US in 2005. You could even put it in your pocket! The picture is crisp and clear. I love the fact that it can run on batteries for at least an hour (if not longer) as I have used the monitor while working out in the yard or in the detached garage during nap time. The sound is fine, however, my 2 year old dropped the monitor down a flight of wooden steps so the on/off/volume dial got pushed in a little and is now more difficult to control. Like any baby monitor, it can crackle if the sound is turned up too high, however, you just need to rotate its position on the counter and the sound usually disappears.
The only negative I can see is that at dawn or dusk, the night vision shuts off and the regular light isn't bright enough, so the screen looks completely black and you can't see your child at all. This usually lasts only 20-30 minutes during these times. Other than that, I did A LOT of research because my monitor had to have a function to dim the brightness of the screen (vital at 2:00 am when you don't want your whole bedroom glowing from the light of the monitor), had to have a function to turn the video function off but allow the sound to keep working (why do you need to see your child while you sleep?), and have night vision to allow you to see your child in the pitch black (I can see her better with the monitor at night than if I went into her dark room and looked myself). Buy this monitor, it's worth every penny!

Had this monitor for about a week. So far so good.
I like that the cameras can work on battery as well as A/C power. This allows me to put the cameras close to my son's bed without having a cable. The camera is rather large and requires a flat surface so can't be attached to a crib if you need that. The camera does have rather bright lights which is tempting for my son to investigate when he gets out of bed. I guess it needs to be somewhere out of reach.

Reception is quite OK - although the longest distance I require is about 40 feet. The 2.5 inch screen is better than I thought it would be. Perhaps the same size as a cell phone screen but that's actually turned out to be better viewing than I thought.

Night vision works pretty well. After having a previous camera with very poor night vision, this one is a quite satisfactory. Gives good images in darkness up to maybe 7 feet - and with a night light in the room can view 15 feet or so - long enough!

Only thing is that the camera can only work on battery power for perhaps 6-8 hours. I guess this is to be expected, but it means that you have to have rechargeable batteries and you have to recharge every day. Not a major problem.

I have had this product for about 2 months now. My wife and I love the fact that we can keep an eye on the baby at night without always having to get up for every little sound. The screen comes in clear and gets pretty good reception. Of course, this set is not as nice as the $300 models but it does the job! If you are looking for a good video monitor with night vision that simply "works", this is a good unit. I give this a item a 5 star because it does the job above the expectations for the price point.

Why I LOVE this monitor:

1. I can keep the TV in the living room and the separate audio in the bedroom.
2. No interference or static, but it still picks up very quiet noises (in my house, but you might not be so lucky)
3. Having video is the way to go! It's great to see what the kiddo is up to without having to go in the room. Especially great in a 2 story.
4. Decent size screen. I did try the more expensive handheld with a 2.5 inch screen, but if you set it down across the room you can't really see the picture. Also that one happened to get bad reception in my home even though it was the same brand as this one.
5. Infared
6. Wireless (TV monitor doesn't need to be wired to the camera like some old school video monitors)
7. Camera is easy to adjust to get a good angle.
8. I have used this in 3 other homes while traveling without any problems with the reception.
9. Great price. Some of the audio only monitors I bought were close to $100. This isn't much more and comes with video!
Cons:
1. The TV even the lowest setting is a little loud. I wish there was a lower volume without muting it. Although when you do mute it there are still lights that indicate the noise level so you still have a visual cue.
2. A couple times (maybe 4 times in a 1 year period) when we turned the camera off, but left the TV on we saw the faint image of another baby in her crib. However this kind of interference is common with all monitors.

My wife and I are constantly up and down stairs in our townhouse and have found that the reception on this system has shown no signs of degradation even with two floors separating us and the baby. The remote functionality of this model is one of the best parts which has saved us on those additional trips to comfort the baby by activating any of the numerous sounds that are available with this model. This is a great product that I would recommend to anyone looking for a quality baby monitor.

Ultimately you're looking for something that audibly & visually monitors your baby. This is a pretty good product for that purpose. There is no biometric measurement, which would have made this a complete all-round product.

Camera: Colours are a little off during the 'day' mode as if the reg/green/blue is just off a little. Doesn't affect the monitoring. As mentioned in other reviews, the camera will "freeze" for a second every 7 seconds or so but it's not bad. The night mode is good - obviously black and white - no colour here and does need to be played around with to get the best display for you... Video resolution is fine - you're probably not going to be able to tell if you're baby is breathing all the time, and the audio won't necessarily pick it up. If you're concerned about this, get something with biometrics.

Audio: We had a seperate audio unit previously and the audio pickup on this unit is as good. No qualms here.

Battery Life: Poor. Maybe 1 - 2 hours and that's your lot. Would be nice if they had improved this somewhat.

Other features: Has the usual music/nature sounds, small orange night light settings which you can turn off from the monitor handset or the the unit itself.

A bracket and cable tidy come with the unit. When setting up the unit to be placed on the wall it's worthwhile having someone on hand to help you set up the position of the unit - and a baby or something babyesque to prove out that when they move around the camera is well positioned. Trying it out in night mode might be the best way to do this so you know worst case visual. Obviously the further away from the baby the wider the viewing, but also the less definition on t the baby.

In 2 weeks of having this unit we've been very pleased; the extra time setting up the unit on the bracket has paid off and no amount of wiggling around the crib goes undetected! :)

The thing that comforted me most was that it used a transmission frequency not used by the other major monitor manufacturers. After reading a lot of other reviews about seeing babies of neighbors... I definately wanted something different. We've been using this for 6 months now, and I have to say the picture and audio quality is amazing - especially the night vision.
It also allows you to pick a few songs to play if you want remotely or on the montior unit and has a decent nightlight. So why 3 stars? The battery life is horrid. You might as well pretend it's not wireless at all. When we first bought it, we were able to use it about 40 minutes. After that first time, it literally lasted 10 minutes less each time we charged it back up... so after about 4 uses, we get our typical 5 minutes of wireless use. Thank goodness we use it plugged in.

If you can live with a "wired" baby monitor, I think it would be hard to beat the features, image quality, and audio quality of this product

This is a really good monitor. The picture quality is great. And so is the infrared night picture. I love the sound activation feature. I have it set to the highest setting and it is very sensitive. Reception is also really good. We do not have a small home, and also have a basement, it picks up great all over the house. The monitor also has good reception in our garden outside, which is about 50 yards from the house. We do not live close to anyone, so I cannot comment on the interference of other things. I like the fact that both the monitor and camera can be disconnected from the outlet and can run off a battery... Overall I am very satisfied with the whole system and would reccomend it to anyone. We also purchased an additional camera for use with future children.

I love this product! I can watch my baby all the time! I loved it so much, I bought this one for my friend as a baby shower gift; she is having twins! It has a great picture and great night vision. Great product. We had an analog system for our first child and upgraded to this system for the birth of our second child. We could not be happier. We have two cameras on the system now and both work great. We will likely add a third camera for the play room in the future. Digital is the way to go and Home Sentry got it right.

We felt like overprotective first time parents when we purchased this monitor, but are so happy that we did. It is great to be able to see our little guy without having to go into his room and potentially wake him up. He makes lots of noise while he sleeps, so a quick glance at the monitor lets us know if he needs us or is just being his typically loud-sleeping self.
The range is excellent. Our bedrooms and the baby's nursery are on the 3rd floor of our 5000 sq ft house. We still get reception when on the 1st floor at the opposite end of the house. We also get reception in most of our yard.
The video quality is great. It's actually easier to see the baby with the monitor than in person at night.
We didn't think we'd have much use for this monitor until our baby was older and able to scoot around in his crib, but we've enjoyed it since moving our baby into his nursery. Highly recommended.

I read so many reviews about different products... and in the end I chose this one. I finally decided I would just have to order one and see if anything in my house (and the neighborhood) would interfere with the signal. I was relieved when the signal was good.
The product itself is great. I love having the peace of being able to check on my baby. Color monitor (daytime) and black/white (night vision) are both good enough to be able to see her breathing. And audio works great too... I can hear her breathing. That is good enough for me for the price!

I have owned/used this video monitor for over 14 months. I was surprised at some of the negative reviews that I read. We haven't run into "viewing" someone else's baby. There aren't many houses around us. Most people around us don't have children, so it hasn't been an issue.
What we love about this monitor:
1. Very well made. I can't tell you how many times that I have dropped this monitor! It takes a beating and works perfectly. The clips (to attach the monitor to you) are also very sturdy...
2. Battery Life. This monitor has tons of battery life. Even after using it for 14 months, I can use this monitor almost all day without having to plug it in to charge....
3. Static free. This is such a quiet monitor! However, we do not have portable phones. We have a phone system in our home, so that may make a difference. We also don't have any near neighbors running things to interfere. We do have wireless internet and DSL. We have had no interference.
4. Great color picture and picture quality. At night, the picture is black and white, however, during the day this is a true color monitor. The picture is not fuzzy nor does it take time to focus in....
5. Highly adjustable and clear audio. It is very easy to adjust the volume. The audio is very clear. We have never had any problems with adjusting the volume or with static.
6. Works just as well as the day we got it! This monitor lasts. It works just as well 1 1/2 years after we got it as it did on the first day we used it.
7. Camera can be mounted on the wall or set somewhere. This is a great feature.
8. For times when you don't want the audio on, it has the lights to let you know if there is noise in the room. This was wonderful for when I was on the phone. I could see if my child started to cry without having the noise interruption. I highly recommend this monitor.

We just exchanged the Safety First Video baby monitor for this one. It's not that the other monitor was a bad one, it's just that this one suits us so much better. I like the fact that the receiver is compact and contains the video picture as well as being portable and having rechargeable batteries. The ability to hook it up to your TV (with a simple plug in cord) is a really neat option too! The camera with this unit has a wider range of adjustability than the Safety First model too, which works much better for us with the location of the high shelves in his room. I would definitely recommend this monitor! It brings peace of mind knowing that your child isn't trying to climb out of the crib!!

I love this baby video monitor!! It is by far the best thing I have bought and makes my life with my first baby so easy!! The picture is great, no interferance from truckers, cell phones, etc. Very portable, cute design and I love that you can turn the music on from another room if the baby gets fussy! My only complaints are ones that I can live with. I wish the volume on the music was adjustable and I wish the battery on the monitor would give you a beep or two to let you know when it is about to die on you. That's it! Nothing major. This makes it easy to go take a shower, hang out on the other side of the house and even go out in the yard. You can always see what your baby is up to! GREAT IDEA, GREAT PRODUCT!!!

Great item. Very easy to set up, and great picture quality!

The only drawback I see is that the screen self adjusts for lighting every few seconds, and if you have it on in a dark room, you get a little bit of strobe effect - its negligible, but if you're highly sensitive to light, you might be annoyed. I sometimes turn it off at night unless I'm awake to watch it - baby TV, is awesome!!

Overall, I couldn't be happier with anything else!

You just have to get use to the lights that are on the baby video monitor while sleeping. Works great in two different floors. Vox feture is great, comes on when noise or movement in the room. really like this product.

After trying out 4 different baby monitors, I'm really glad I found this one. All the others had horrible interference or image (even some more expensive ones). This monitor however has good image and I've never experienced any interference. Very easy to set up. It's also very portable, so great when you're traveling. The battery life isn't very long, but so far it has satisfied our needs. One time we had a little trouble with the handheld device not coming on in VOX mode when our baby was making just a little bit of noise, but this was fixed after reseting it with the actual monitor. Also, I think the music on it is a little loud and I wish we had a way to control the volume, but overall I think this is a great buy and I would recommend it to anyone!

I purchased the Levana Babyview20 baby video monitor when my toddler got his 'big boy' bed so I could keep an eye on him. As someone else wrote, the ideas are good in theory, but not in practice. Interference free means that the monitor automatically changes channels when it detects interference which apparently happened every few seconds in our house. It also has a voice activated feature in which the camera only picks up sound when it reaches a certain preset level. Once that noise level is reached the sound is great, but when it changes channels (you don't always know it's doing this), it either resets to where it has to be noise activated or the monitor and camera get out of synch. This is my 2nd baby video monitor and I was not impressed by it. I do have to say it was interferance free unlike the 1st monitor I ordered but the picture was awful. It was pixelated and when the night vision was one you could hardly see anything. Not very clear. Also the camera and the hand held device would disconnect from each other or all of a sudden I could see the picture somewhat but the sound would disappear. I did send it back to the company for a refund and they were very quick about refunding my money. That was nice!

I purchased this MobiCam unit to keep an eye on my son. We also bought the optional internet kit so our friends and family can view his first steps things like that. It's very easy to use the internet kit; all you have to do is enter an address and a password. It also has Automatic night vision, clear display,transmits up to 150 feet indoors, and the picture and sound is great. I highly recommend this product.

I purchased the product after having tried two other more expensive ones. This by far surpasses the others. I could actually get rest with my newborn because I felt so sure that I could rely on this monitor. I also bought the Mobi Internet kit just to make sure my daughter is safe when I am gone. When I first decided I needed a baby monitor I was mocked for being overly anxious as a mom to be. Now all my friends and family think it is the greatest tool. If my son wakes in the night I can give him a chance to learn how to fall back to sleep on his own all the while assured he is safe. I can see at any time that he hasn't turned onto his tummy or has a blanket over his face. I loaned it to a friend who visited with her toddler, she could see when her daughter was standing in the crib and knew when to go and fetch her or when she was just a bit restless, without any need to go in and disturb the child. The night vision is very clear and you can watch your child learn to easily drift off to sleep on their own knowing they are not in distress. With a sound only monitor each sound makes you wonder what is going on, now we only need to click the button to check up on our little one. Priceless Peace of Mind.

When the monitor works, it works fantastically. We can see our baby both during the day and at night due to the infrared. I recently purchased this video monitor for use in our home,..... I am happy with my purchase. I believe this monitor was a good choice, although it's not perfect. Here's my review:
1. PICTURE. This monitor has by far the best picture of any baby video monitors I have seen. That being said, it is NOT "high-def" to the standards of a high-def television. It is high def compared to other monitors currently available. 5 STARS.

2. SOUND. The sound quality is very good. There is a soft "whoosh" of interference that is constantly in the background when the receiver is on. I have never seen a monitor that didn't have that interference, and this is better than most. The microphone appears to be very sensitive and picks up my child's smallest sounds. 4 STARS.

3. RECEPTION. The reception is unparalleled in my opinion. There is only an occasional blip of interference on one side of the picture that resolves quickly..... Additionally, the monitor does not appear to conflict with our wireless internet in any way. 5 Stars

4. PAN/TILT. This monitor advertises the ability to pan and tilt. If you are picturing being able to remotely control the camera to move in any direction, that's not what it does. From the remote parent unit, you can zoom in on the picture 2X to 4X. While in a zoomed view, you can move right, left, up or down within the picture,.....The zoom feature does produce fairly clear images, however, and for us we like being able to see both our kids in their bunk beds in the zoomed out view, and then zoom in on each one individually.....4 Stars

5. TIME OUT and OTHER FEATURES. This monitor has an on-screen menu that allows you to set your preferences for the Time Out feature, AUTO level, Night vision (infrared) and adding other cameras. TIME OUT allows you to set how long you want the screen to be on before it automatically shuts off to save battery life - 5 seconds, 15 secs, 25 secs, or OFF which leaves it on until you turn it off. I really like this feature because you can hit the view button to see the picture and then just set it down and it will turn itself off. The sound continues after the screen turns off unless you have set the AUTO LEVEL, which turns the sound off and then turns it on if there is a sound in the room. You can set this to OFF, which keeps the sound on until you turn the unit off, or to level 1, 2 or 3 which makes it more or less sensitive to sound, i.e., it will turn the sound on for smaller noises on level 1 or wait for bigger noises on level 2 or 3....for NIGHT vision you can turn the infrared on, off, or to auto.....5 Stars.

6. OTHER. There is a Safety 1st screen that comes on every time you turn the screen on, as if it shows while the unit is booting up,.....but it's only on there for 1 second so it's not that big of a deal. The screen does return to the view you had before, like if you were zoomed in on a certain spot it returns to that, which is nice.....The screen is pretty small, smaller than our old one, but the picture is so much better it makes up for it.....Finally, the power button on the camera blinks brightly when the camera is on, which can be annoying in the dark. I taped tin foil over it to cover it up.
Overall, I would recommend this monitor to family and friends without hesitation....I am convinced this is among the best baby video monitors, if not the best available today. I love it. (Read Full Review)

Great monitor. Clear picture. Good sound. Little feedback. One BIG problem. It kills your wireless network. Another writer commented that he was unsure whether this device was interfering. I can attest, with certainty, that is it. We're running the new N class Apple AirPort as well. Not an old router. The interference in sporadic, but when it hits your network goes down and for a number of minutes.
So, be warned. If you use wireless routers, consider the 900 Mhz monitors (and risk too many neighbors using the same frequency range as well).

My wife and I have been using this non-stop for the past 4 months and love it! Granted, the battery life isn't too long, but it is rechargable, so when it isn't on our hip, it is plugged in nearby. Its interface is IPOD like, and once you figure it out, it is just fine. Good night-vision and color vision. Seriously, for the money, there isn't anything better out there in the range of baby video monitors.

It has been so great to be able to see my son in his room. It helps me to know whether he is really up or just laying in bed chattering. This has been so valuable because I would go into the room as soon as I heard him, using my old monitor. But now that I can watch him, he sometimes lays in bed and actually falls back to sleep!

The two things that concerned me about this monitor from reading other reviews were:
1) the bright LED light on the camera
2) the fact that you have to go into the menu to adjust the volume
After using the monitor I have no problem with the brightness of the small light on the camera. If it is a bother, put a small piece of electrical tape over it. Seriously, though, it is not that bright at all.
The volume control is inconvenient, though. However, with all the pros, I would still recommend this product to a friend over all other video monitors.
PROS:
1) Great, clear picture
2) Easy to install (I just set mine on the dresser next to the crib)
3) Convenient handset
4) Pan and zoom features are nice.

I love this monitor - we have had zero problems - had the monitor for about 5 months. It works great at night, (the baby's eyes glow like an alien when he's got them open, so you can see when he wakes up). There's a perfect color picture in the light, and steady constant picture at all times! We have a wireless network which does not interfere with it, nor does it interfere with our network. Occasionally, when placed directly next to a laptop (within 2 feet), the computer's wireless signal is affected (drops up to 30%). We also have wireless phones and bluetooth devices, and no problems anywhere. Very good range - even get a clear picture outside or in the garage.
The tilt and pan are excellent functions.....
I would highly recommend to anyone - it's a great product. There are a few bad reviews out there which I think were either earlier models or defective. I bought mine in March 2009. (Read full review)
